Cubs at the Whitehouse
The 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs were honored at the White House today. Regardless of how you feel politically, it's pretty sweet to be honored by the President.
Here's my favorite quote from the day, which I feel captures very well why I've grown to enjoy baseball so much:
"It's worth remembering that throughout our history sports has had this power to bring us together even when the country is divided. Sports has changed attitudes and culture in ways that seem subtle but ultimately made us think differently about ourselves and who we are... Sports has a way of changing hearts in a way politics or business doesn't."
It's also pretty cool that #44 Anthony Rizzo got a pretty sweet Twitter shout out from the 44th President:
From one 44 to another, thanks for finally giving @FLOTUS and generations of hopeful fans a @Cubs championship. pic.twitter.com/RnLyTYF2ub
